A Cork woman who suffered a heart attack and contracted Covid-19 in March has been moved to a general ward after being on a ventilator for 79 days.
Staff at the Bons Secours Hospital in the City applauded as Mary Sullivan from Douglas was moved from the Intensive Care Unit to a general ward yesterday.
The Covid-19 crisis was still in the early stages when Mary was admitted and placed in an induced coma- with staff saying they believe Mary's 79 days on a ventilator is a pandemic record for Ireland and the UK.
