Cork County Council could face a €30 million budget deficit due to the pandemic.
The Echo reports County Hall Chief Executive Tim Lucey has descibed the loss of revenue as 'stark' and would cause challenges for years.
Its feared the loss will lead to a loss of some services like road maintenance and the building of social housing.
Around one third of the County's €338 million budget comes from commercial rates.
