Cork University Hospital is reporting that the increasing number of COVID positive patients being admitted to the hospital is putting significant pressure on its services.
A Hospital Surge Plan is currently being implemented and CUH is warning that this may result in the cancellation of a number of non-urgent procedures.
They said in a statement to RedFM News that affected patients will be contacted directly in the event of their procedure being cancelled.
Meanwhile, delays in the hospital's Emergancy Departmnent are continuing, due to an increase in presentations and subsequent admissions.
Management are requesting that, where appropriate, the public avail of GP services and South Doc prior to attending the Emergency Department if their needs are not urgent.
