Debenhams workers have begun official strike action as they continue their campaign for an improved redundancy package.
Former staff blocked a van from removing items from the Patrick's Street store yesterday and have vowed to carry out similar pickets on the company's other outlets.
Gerry Light from the Mandate trade union says it followed a series of coordinated protests.
"There was an attempt by other parties to remove valuable assets from the store, our members heard about it and they have the full legal protection of industrial action behind them, they balloted in a lawful way.
"They immediately put pickets on the location in a lawful manner, essentially to get their message across."
