€75m to be given to childcare providers to stop them charging fees higher than pre COVID19

€75 million is being given to childcare providers to stop them charging higher fees than before the Covid-19 crisis.

The support package is being introduced so 1,800 creches can reopen on June 29th, with reduced numbers of children.

Early Childhood Ireland, which represents nearly 4,000 childcare providers, says its members need to be sure their businesses are viable into the future.

Its Director of Policy and Advocacy, Frances Byrne, says they'll look at how today's support package will affect the safety of children and staff:
