Ursula von der Leyen is in Dublin to meet Taoiseach Micheál Martin to discuss Ireland's recovery plan. She approved the Recovery and Resilience document drawn up by the Government to plot a recovery from the pandemic. Asked if Ireland was taking too slow an approach to re-opening indoor dining and international travel, President Von der Leyen said each country needs to move at its own speed:
All our member states and of course, Ireland to have always the possibility, and the responsibility to look at the individual regional epidemiological situation, and then to adapt the approvals to that situation.
