That's according to the Cork Business Association who have welcomed calls for the early re-opening of non-essential retail on Monday along with increased trading hours
Under Level 5 restrictions all non-essential retailers have been closed since the end of October with many depending on the critical Christmas trade to give their businesses a much needed financial boost.
The restrictions are in place until December 1st with a Cabinet meeting to be held tomorrow afternoon before an announcement tomorrow evening on how these restrictions will be eased.
Speaking to RedFM News Eoin O'Sullivan of the Cork Business Association says this has been the most difficult trading period for businesses in Cork and they are eager to get their doors reopened in the city in a safe and controlled environment:
