That's according to Cork ETB Director of Schools Pat McKelvey who was speaking following a meeting of school principals yesterday.
Schools are due to reopen next month, however staff and students are calling for greater clarity on issues like social distancing and the wearing of facemasks.
The Director General of the HSE has called for masks to be compulsory in secondary school and has accused the Department of Education of 'dithering' on the issue.
Cork ETB represents over 10,000 students at 26 secondary and 2 primary schools and also runs several Youth Reach and training centres.
