Finance Minister Needs To See How May Return To Work Before A Decision On The Covid Payment Is Made

The pandemic unemployment payment and wage subsidy schemes were initially due to expire in June.

The Finance Minister says he'll have to see how many people go back to work during phase one, before a decision can be made about extending COVID-19 payments.

The pandemic unemployment payment and wage subsidy schemes were initially due to expire in June.

However the Government has acknowledged they will need to extend the schemes beyond then.

Minister Paschal Donohoe says more information is needed before an announcement can be made.
