Flight Operations At Cork Airport Down Almost 94% In April

The Irish Aviation Authority say they are hopeful the decline in air traffic levels has reached its lowest level in the wake of the Covid-19 pandemic.

Just 5,279 flights passed over Ireland in April, compared to 29,077 during the same month last year, representing an 82% decline.

The IAA say a co-ordinated approach is needed across Europe to ensure passengers can be confident that the risks associated with Covid-19 are minimised.

Speaking to RedFM News, Head of Corporate Affairs at the IAA Paul Brandon says aviation is a significant employer in Ireland:
