It's part of an effort to save Ireland's zoo industry
In total, the Government has pledged 1.6million euro for the sector.
It comes as Dublin Zoo this week warned there is a real risk it may close for good due to the impact of Covid-19 restrictions.
The money has been secured for the popular Leeside destination by heritage ministers Darragh O'Brien and Malcolm Noonan.
