Free antigen tests are being made available for school children from today.
They'll be provided to parents whose child is in a pod with a student who has tested positive for Covid-19.
If a child receives a positive PCR test, their parent is asked to immediately inform their school.
From today, the Principal will then contact the parents of everyone that is in a pod with the student who tested positive, to give them a free phone number to call to request free antigen tests.
The children in the pod of the confirmed COVID-19 case can continue to attend school as long as they have no symptoms and haven't had a positive test result.
If an antigen test is positive, the student should isolate at home and should be brought for a PCR test.
The decision to do antigen testing with your child is completely up to parents and guardians
and will have no impact on your child’s education or experience in school.
