Further Fears For Retail In The City As Arcadia Group On Brink Of Collapse

The BBC is reporting that Topshop owner Arcadia could collapse within hours today, putting 13,000 jobs at risk across the group

The group attempted to secure a £30 million loan to keep stores including Topshop, Burton and Dorothy Perkins open, however senior sources at Arcadia say they don't now expect a rescue deal.

Topshop operates a large store on Opera Lane in the city.

It's been a difficult time for retailers in the city due to the pandemic, with stores such as Monsoon and Accessorize and department store Debenhams closing in recent months
