The BBC is reporting that Topshop owner Arcadia could collapse within hours today, putting 13,000 jobs at risk across the group
The group attempted to secure a £30 million loan to keep stores including Topshop, Burton and Dorothy Perkins open, however senior sources at Arcadia say they don't now expect a rescue deal.
Topshop operates a large store on Opera Lane in the city.
It's been a difficult time for retailers in the city due to the pandemic, with stores such as Monsoon and Accessorize and department store Debenhams closing in recent months
