Another three-month mortgage holiday for people affected by the Covid-19 pandemic will be announced in the coming days.
A break for borrowers was unveiled in March, and is due to end next month.
But, according to the Irish Independent, banks are preparing to extend the scheme as most of the economy remains shut down.
AIB has processed over 40,000 mortgage breaks since the initiative was introduced.
