Gardai Asking The People Of Cork To Avoid All Non-Essential Travel This Weekend

The are urging the public to follow the current public health guidelines

They are urging people Leeside to make a special effort in limiting their contact with other people, to wear a face mask when required, and to stay within the County unless it's for work, education, or essential family circumstances.

A Cork Superintendent says people need to 'demonstrate leadership' and ask themselves before they choose to travel if their journey is essential.

Gardai across Cork will continue to monitor dozens of checkpoints on primary and secondary roads across Cork City and County as part of Operation Fanacht.
