There will be fines of up to €2,500 for forged vaccine documents or for premises that are not checking certs
Compliance officers from the HSE and HSA will monitor this, with concerns about inspections and enforcement.
Health Minister Stephen Donnelly says it won’t be a 9 to 5 job.
"I wouldn't envisage a situation where it's just nine to five, Monday to Friday, I think we'd be, we'd be hard pushed to find the, the times when, when these things might be, might be breached, but as I say, it really the enforcement is there as a safety mechanism, I think the industry are taking and will continue to take it very, very seriously."
