The Government must commit to pay equality for teachers if it's serious about hiring and keeping a thousand extra in September, according to the Association of Secondary Teachers.
Additional teachers are being recruited to help schools reopen safely.
But the union says that'll prove difficult due to the lower pay scale that was introduced for new teachers in 2010.
