Government Will Discuss Banning Take-Away Pints When It Meets This Morning

It's after large groups of people were filmed drinking on the streets in Cork and Dublin over the weekend.

NPHET has warned that the suppression of Covid-19 has stalled and that time is running out to turn things around by December 1st, when we're due to exit level 5 restrictions.

456 new cases and 5 additional deaths were confirmed last night.

Deputy Chief Medical Officer Ronan Glynn says the scenes in Cork and Dublin are frustrating.

"While it is disheartening. Not to get distracted by that and to remember that there is a very significant silent majority out there who are doing the right things, who are keeping themselves and their family safe, and ultimately keeping each and every one of us in our community safe."
