Hairdressers are presenting over 100 recommendations to the government this week in an effort to open earlier than planned.
Wearing PPE, removing magazines and sanitizing units after every client are among the proposals.
Hairdressers are due to reopen on July the 20th under the current roadmap, but the Irish Hairdressers Federation wants that brought forward to the end of June.
Incoming president Danielle Kennedy, says they will also ask clients to fill out questionnaires to make sure they’re not sick.
"We will be recommending that clients are screened prior to a visit.
"Most salons would be sending a reminder text anyway, so it's very easy to incorporate a short screening questionnaire in with that."
