Half of the new Covid Advisory Group were also members of NPHET.
The new body that's replacing the National Public Health Emergency Team was confirmed last night.
The group of 20 will be chaired by the chief medical officer, Tony Holohan, who's one of 10 NPHET members on it.
It also includes fresh faces like the ESRI's Pete Lunn and immunology professor Luke O'Neill.
