It follows a statement by the University Of Limerick today who say they will likely host a field hospital as frontline health services are potentially overwhelmed.
CIT say they are reviewing the potential areas for use, however options are limited on Campus given the requirement for toilets and showers to be near each other.
CIT say they have also had requests for laboratory staff and other health professionals.
A spokesperson for CIT says they support the calls and will support any staff that volunteer in terms of pay and human resources.
