The Chief Officer for Cork Kerry Community Healthcare Michael Fitzgerald told today's HSE Regional Health Forum for the South meeting that the incidence of Covid in the South West is 'high'.
The meeting was also told that there were just three Covid outbreaks being dealt with in residential settings in Cork and Kerry on Tuesday.
Michael Fitzgerald said outbreaks in nursing homes are having a lesser impact compared to earlier in the year due to the roll out of vaccines and booster shots.
Delegates were also told that the HSE is planning to roll out booster shots for the over 50s next week.
