The HSE is urging anyone eligible for a Covid19 vaccine or booster who hasn't yet received it to come forward.
The advice comes amid a sharp increase in case numbers and hospitalisations in recent weeks.
Professor of Immunovirology Liam Fanning says vaccination is the best way we can protect ourselves:
"Vaccination is like an insurance policy. It's an insurance policy for the variants that we know that are out there already, and it does give good protection. We can't predict like a variants of the future are going to be like really. Just consider this vaccination programme an insurance policy that will keep you out of hospital if you are in a vulnerable population".
