Traffic restrictions and increased Garda patrols will be in place at beaches and beauty spots across County Cork this weekend.
Cork County Council and the Gardaí made the joint announcement after reports of large crowds at popular destinations in Cork and across the country last weekend.
A chipper in Howth in County Dublin was heavily criticised after a video showing long queues of people seemingly ignoring calls to socially distance was posted to social media on Sunday.
Gardaí also turned a number of people away from the cliff walk in Ballycotton due to overcrowding in the village.
Speaking to RedFM News, Superintendent Mick Comyns says people need to stay inside as much as possible:
"It's about keeping apart, staying at home as much as possible, and meeting with and dealing with as few people as possible.
"I would just like to reassure people people that we have extra Gardai available, we will be out on the streets and out and about, and if there's any issues do not hesitate to contact us."
