Increasing footfall in Cork city while restricting numbers in shops and public transport "A Perfect Storm"

That's how Cork Business Association described the challenge of increasing footfall in the city while restricting numbers in shops and on public transport.

A great deal of work has been carried out to encourage the use of public transport in the city in recent years however reduced capacity on buses due to the COVID19 outbreak have impacted on these plans.

It's hoped a moratorium on rates and free parking initiatives will help traders overcome some of the stumbling blocks created by COVID19 however speaking to RedFM News Laurence Owens of Cork Business Association says innovation is key to survival in the current climate:
