Indoor dining is too risky, according to a member of the Independent Scientific Advocacy Group

It's after 1,828 new infections of Covid-19 were confirmed yesterday - the highest number of daily cases since January 23rd.

There are 198 people in hospital with the virus, of which 33 are in ICU.

UCD Professor Mercille says indoor dining shouldn't happen, even for vaccinated people:

"yeah there's a risk, the vaccines are really really good, but they're not perfect, and that means that if you have many people going to the restaurants, then some of them might be infected, and also we have the staff which is younger usually so they may not have been vaccinated and all that creates risky areas really."
