Cork's pubs, restaurants and cafes resume indoor dining this morning for the first time since December.

A maximum of 6 adults will be allowed at one table and wearing face masks will be mandatory
while not seated.

A change to the Failte Ireland guidelines overnight means only the lead person for each booking will have to give their phone number for contact tracing, as opposed to everyone.

Only those who have been fully vaccinated or have recovered from Covid-19, will be allowed to avail of indoor service.

Owner of the Castle Inn Pub in Cork City, Michael O'Donovan is glad to be reopening despite the new rules that will have to be enforced.

'We never really wanted to be asking people for their medical history, or having to ID some people, that aspect of it was a bit worrying.

"Happily we now are back to the scenario now where we're taking the lead contact details, and their telephone number not the names of all parties."
