The battle against Covid-19 can be won or lost in the final minutes.
That's the message from an infectious disease consultant at Cork University Hospital, who is urging people not to become complacent.
The Covid-19 death toll has gone up to 794, after a further 28 patients died, while the number of confirmed cases stands at 17,607.
Cork has the second highest number of positive cases in the country with 1,087 cases.
Dr Corina Sadlier says there's a danger restrictions won't be relaxed if the public doesn't continue to abide by them.
"We're in a much better position now than we would have expected to be.
"It's fantastic in terms of what we've done, in terms of what the public have done, in suppressing the surge that we absolutely could have seen,.
"But there is a danger that if we don't get into the position that the Public Health Team need us to be in that they won't be able to relax the restrictions as they would like to."
