A male in the east of the country has become the fourth covid-19 patient to die here.
The Department of Health confirmed 121 more people had tested positive for covid-19 yesterday.
906 people are now known to be infected.
New testing centres are being opened across the country as the HSE works through a backlog of 40,000 suspect cases.
HSE chief executive Paul Reid says everyone in the country has a job to do.
"We would ask everybody to abide blaming younger people. That won't win their hearts and minds.
"It's also unfair - because we really need to call out all the public, the minority who are reckless at times, to do the right thing.
"Thank you to everybody who are supporting all the actions that we've recommended."
