The Minister for Education must make a decision on how the Leaving Cert will be delivered no later than this week in order to end the continuing uncertainty for teachers and students.
The Labour Party said the Ministers silence is causing unnecessary anxiety for students in the run up to the exams.
Party spokesman on Education Aodhan O Riordain said the situation is becoming intolerable.
"Orals and the practical exams are happening in a very short period of time, and yet teachers are out. They're out with Covid, or they're out because they're close contacts. Students are out, either as close contacts or because they have Covid.
"It is an intolerable situation. Covid is still causing havoc with this Leaving Cert year, and I think the Minister needs to acknowledge that and make an early decision - and an early decision means this week."
