It's in the hope that the Cahirmee Horse Fair will not go ahead
The annual fair, which was due to take place tomorrow, has been cancelled this year due to Covid-19.
Instead, rows of silver fencing and vehicle checkpoints line the streets of the North Cork town, as Gardai and locals express their desire not to hold the event.
The Cahirmee Horse Fair, which attracts thousands of people each year would have celebrated its 99th edition this year.
However, Former Mayor of Cork County, Cllr Ian Doyle, along with Gardai and locals in Buttevant are appealing for people not to come to the town today or tomorrow for the fair in the interest of public safety.
