The Taoiseach is appealing to the public to keep following covid guidelines not matter how tired people are of the pandemic.
The Delta variant has led to an 88% increase in cases here over the past week - with a rise in every county.
1,110 new cases were reported yesterday.
Micheál Martin says he knows people are fed up but we need to be vigilant.
"We are entering into a new phase of Covid-19 via the Delta variant.
"We all have to adhere to the guidelines and the regulations no matter how tired we are of this pandemic. It's extremely important that we focus on doing things ourselves individually that protect ourselves and protect others."
