The Sinn Féin leader has accused the government of raising expectations about the lifting of Coronavirus restrictions.

Mary Lou McDonald says people need to understand any changes made next week will be very small.

It's expected people may be able to travel further for exercise and there could be some easing of cocooning measures.

Mary Lou McDonald says that some of the commentary from the government has been unhelpful.

"We need to be careful, we need to be steady footed.

"I don't think the kite flying in recent times by members of the government has been helpful at all, because it has now raised expectations that May 5th is some kind of red letter day, when we will be liberated from these restrictions.

"That's not true."
