McDonalds have announced they will start to re-open it's Irish drive-thrus.
The plan is to slowly reintroduce it's services from May 20th.
The company will set restrictions such as shorter opening hours, contactless payment and a €30 price cap for each car during the trial runs of re-opening.
Dublin will have the first locations to open with Cork and other restaurants around the country to follow with the hope that all locations in Ireland will be operational by early June.
Paul Pomroy, the CEO of McDonalds UK & Ireland said, “Eight weeks ago, we took the decision to close our entire restaurant estate, an unprecedented decision taken in the best interests of our employees and customers.
“In the last few days, updated government guidance has been shared in both the UK and Ireland, which makes it clear that takeaways and deliveries can operate.
“In line with government guidance I can today announce we will pilot reopening 6 Drive-Thru restaurants in the Dublin area on Wednesday, 20th May and we will confirm the locations next week.
“Moving in step with government guidelines, we plan to reopen all our Drive-Thrus by early June across the UK and Ireland.
As well as warning customers of queues due to smaller amounts of staff in kitchens to adhere to social distancing requirements, he also mentioned a change to the restaurants with perspex screens and employees are to wear protective equipment.
