The Public Expenditure Minister says the hospitality sector deserves the chance to reopen for indoor dining, despite a rise in covid cases.
Pubs and restaurants are set to welcome back customers indoors from next Monday.
An app is being developed to allow people show they’re fully vaccinated while time limits will be lifted.
Speaking on his way into Cabinet, Michael McGrath says the hospitality sector needs the chance to get back in business.
"It is our view that they deserve the opportunity to trade. Many of them have been closed now for so long.
"There will be a need coupled with that for the continued exercise fo caution, and it think people are well able to exercise their own personal judgement."
