The National Public Health Emergency Team is meeting around now to discuss the next steps in the country's fight against Covid-19.
Public health officials will examine whether it's appropriate to lift any restrictions after next Monday.
According to reports this morning, the lockdown will largely remain unchanged for a further two weeks.
Chief Medical Officer Tony Holohan is warning that even if decisions are made today, they may be changed.
"In the week in March when we made two serrate sets of recommendations, and I would certainly have been of the view that we wouldn't be back to you with another set of measures that week.
"But of course we came back and we had further things to do because something happened that we weren't anticipating.
"We always have to be ready in the event that something happens that we're not anticipating, and be in a position to change our minds.
"So even if our minds are made up, there's something to change on the basis of what we see."
