The HSE has confirmed that nine residents at Clonakilty Community Hospital have died from Covid-19 this month.
Earlier this month Cork Kerry Community Healthcare said a number of residents had died at the hospital after a number of staff and residents had tested positive for the virus.
An outbreak team visited the hospital and continue to work with staff and management.
Over 600 people in long-term residential care facilities have died from Covid-19 since the beginning of the year.
The total includes those who were tested for the disease, and people who were listed as probable deaths related to coronavirus.
Dr Kathleen McLellan from the Department of Health has details on the settings people died in.
"There were 3,244 deaths totally reported in nursing homes in January to April - in disability centres that was 73, and in mental health that was 51.
"I would just put a caveat on the mental health [numbers], because we are still validating and looking at the information.
"The total Covid deaths that were identified at this point in time were 586 in nursing homes, 16 in disability centres and 14 in mental health centres."
