No daily Covid figures will be published from today onwards - ending a two-year practice.
The Department of Health says case numbers will be updated regularly on the coronavirus hub instead.
It comes as the number of Covid patients in hospital dropped to 379 yesterday - compared to nearly 1,400 at the start of the month.
Donegal GP Ciarán Ó Fearraigh says the department's right to end the daily case figures:
"It's another step along the normalisation progress of this disease. Most of the public are probably not as aware of daily figures as we would have been, and also the fact that the testing system has changed now with less PCR testing and more reliance on home testing, and also the change in terms of the fact that people aren't required to do a test now but just maybe stay at home if they've got symptoms".
