It will see the closure of pubs and restaurants and the extension of the Halloween break for schools

The new restrictions, which come into effect on Friday, also mean no overnight stays in private homes, unless it's part of your social 'bubble'.

The government here is expected to decide whether to impose tougher restrictions on border counties as a result.

First Minister Arlene Foster announced the restrictions at a special sitting of the Assembly in the last hour:
