The Stormont Assembly is expecting to publishing a plan for reopening Northern Ireland later this week.
A programme for the phased lifting of restrictions is being worked on by the Belfast executive.
They met yesterday for talks and further discussions are planned for the coming days.
First Minister Arlene Foster says the Covid-19 pandemic remains a big problem in region.
"We cannot act as if Coronavirus has been beaten, because unfortunately it hasn't, and it still poses a real threat to you and to those that you love.
"So we are planning for change but until then we need you to work with us, and know that we will not keep the restrictions in place any longer than is absolutely necessary."
