NPHET Modelling Advisory Group chair says we will see Covid-19 cases in schools

The chair of NPHET's Modelling Advisory Group says it's a certainty that we will see cases of Covid 19 in schools - but it would be worse to keep children home.

Almost one million primary and secondary students are set to return to the classroom this coming week.

Philip Nolan said children are more at risk of contracting Covid 19 within their own households, and the chance of a child infecting a teacher is slim.

Chair of the modelling advisory group of NPHET Philip Nolan said it would be more detrimental to keep children at home.
