The number of people in hospital with Covid-19 has more than halved in three weeks.
Latest figures show 750 receiving treatment, compared to a recent peak of 1,624 in hospital on March 28th.
Over the past seven days, the number of Covid patients in hospital has also dropped by 25%
Meanwhile a virus expert's urging people not to feed into suggestions the good weather could further impact infection rates.
Professor Gerry Kileen, says the transmissibility of Omicron means summer won't have a huge effect.
"It's still going to drive its way through entire populations if we allow it to.
"These variants are 3-5 times more transmissible than the flu, so even a good summer is just a speed bump for it.
"If you look at places like Manaus in Brazil that have been hit my multiple variants, Manaus has no such thing as a winter, or even an autumn.
"We need to stop reading things into trends associated with summer."
