One person per week is allowed to visit
Should the country's level of Covid-19 restrictions rise it would change to one person every two weeks allowed to visit a resident.
It comes as 301 new cases of the virus were detected yesterday including 16 in Cork - while around 100 tests on Saturday were delayed due to technical issues, however it is not clear when the swabs were taken.
Professor Sam McConkey from the RCSI says the Department of Health must maintain its high level of transparency and release the data on these tests:
"We don't actually know when their swab was taken or when they were diagnosed, and that makes the models that many of us use to try and watch the trends and watch where we're going and I'm trying to almost do some forecasting, you know, which I've relied on a lot for the last nine months since January Initially with the Chinese data out of Wuhan, and then Hubei and Beijing, then for all of China and for lots of other countries, and I have been doin g it for Ireland since we have cases. And that's been really helpful."
