One Of Cork's Leading Restaurateurs Is Calling On The Government To Extend The Wage Subsidy Scheme Until The End Of 2020

The subsidy scheme is due to end in June

Claire Nash, owner of Nash19 on Prince's St. in the City Centre, believes that without Government support many pubs, cafes, and restaurants will fail to re-open let alone turn a profit.

Speaking to RedFM News, Claire stressed that more clarity was needed surrounding public health guidelines for restaurants when they re-open next month, and that questions surrounding VAT rates remain unanswered.

She added that ending the wage subsidy scheme too early could prove catastrophic for the sector:
