12 to 15 year-olds will continue to get vaccinated in pharmacies today.

Over 50,000 teenagers in that age group had registered by the end of yesterday.

The Irish Pharmacy Union says some pharmacies have already started vaccinating them, but the majority will do so today.

Secretary General, Darragh O'Loughlin says uptake for the jab for 12 to 15 year-olds has been strong so far.

"Pharmacies were quite busy with a lot of interest from parents in having their teenagers vaccinated, a lot of people booking their children in.

"I've spoken to pharmacies who have dozens if not hundreds of enquiries about getting their children vaccinated which is really really positive, as we want to see as many young children vaccinated as possible."
