A quarter of the people on the pandemic unemployment payment will see the rate reduced at the end of the month.
The payment has been extended until August 10th - but will fall to 203 euro a week for anyone who was earning less than 200 a week before losing their jobs.
The wage subsidy scheme has been extended until the end of August after a cabinet meeting this morning.
Social Protection Minister Regina Doherty says those who will see a reduction in the pandemic payment on June 29th will still be well supported.
"I'm absolutely adamant that when the changed rate does come, not a single person will be in receipt of a Euro less than they were earning when we shut the economy down on March the 13th.
"I think that is fair, I think it is equitable, and I think it address some of the issues and the concerns that people have raised, that we're all aware that this money wasn't sitting in the bank, it was being borrowed and I think we had to be fair."
