Parents are being urged to keep their children active for an hour every day.
The government's launched the ‘In This Together’ campaign, which aims to help everyone in Ireland to stay active and look after their mental health during this time.
The HSE's Health Promotion and Improvement Officer, Áine Buggy, has this advice for parents.
"Try to ensure that all children are active for 60 minutes every day, we can break the 60 minutes up with any type of movement.
"Maybe look at introducing your children to games you played when you were their age, games like follow the leader, even piggy in the middle.
"These type of games are great for confined spaces."
