They have made the comments in reaction to the Covid-19 pandemic
The Oireachtas Covid-19 Committee has published a draft report which recommends overhauling the sector in the wake of the pandemic.
Some of the suggested reforms include integrating private and public nursing homes and a review of all deaths in nursing homes during Covid-19.
