Pharmacies are expected to begin administering Covid-19 vaccinations from next week.
They'll initially administer the Johnson and Johnson vaccine to people over 50 who've yet to receive a jab.
Darragh O'Loughlin from the Irish Pharmacy Union says they'll administer other vaccines over time.
"Pharmacies will be in a position to administer the Jansen vaccine when that becomes available, that should be starting hopefully next week.
"As we progress down through the age cohorts, we will see pharmacies, particularly those that are located at a distance from the vaccination centres, using the MRNA vaccines, the Pfizer vaccines."
