Publicans Want Sale Of Alcohol In Off-Licences Banned For Several Weeks To Allow Pubs To Reopen

Pubs will not reopen on Monday, following a recommendation by the National Public Health Emergency Team.

Cabinet will meet later to consider giving Gardaí new powers to shut down pubs on the spot for breaching Covid-19 rules.

Organising or attending a gathering of more than 6 people may also be made an offence, in an effort to crack down on house parties.
